Hello. Here is where I went to Amsterdam. Now I'm in Boston- trying to be a writer. I am 23.

Hi! I hope this isn't too forward.I saw your post asking for advice on writing about WNC in 1895ish.I would suggest looking first at what happened during the Civil War then move on to the residual effects of that turmoil on the area. Victims by Philip Paludan and Reconstructing Appalachia by Andrew Slap might be good places to start.I live in WNC and was born in Madison County and have done extensive research on Appalachia, specifically WNC, this semester. Let me know if I can help any more!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it : )
I was working with a really tight deadline so I wasn’t able to use these books for my final, but I’ve saved the information and the story is definitely I want to return to in the near future and continue researching!

Thanks again : )

Assignment: Write a 5 page case study of a student paper.
Me: 1 page, that just about sums it all up…. now what can I talk about?

EDIT: “The next sentence moves away from the texts themselves to how the texts were taught, seemingly back in-line with the proposition as it stands, but the detour the first sentence of the second paragraph takes is problematic and causes confusion for the reader as it appears the paper is at cross purposes with itself.”

Nearly done with page 2, just chugging right along.

EDIT EDIT: DONE! My senioritis is SO bad. I want to cry from the brief happiness afforded me by completing one assignment from a list of like seven that are due between now and next Wednesday.

When curing afflictions, private catharsis is no match for creative self-expression.

Just found out the story on which I was working so diligently last night doesn’t have to be turned in until the 18th, but the professor emailed to say I could still turn it in on the 11th if I’d like…

GPOY on Story Due Date Day.

EDIT: GPOY as you realize you turned in a 20 page story with (though not limited to) grammatical errors on EVERY PAGE. This is what happens when the 3am urge to rewrite whole chunks of a story hits, especially when you’ve been using Open Office and switching between that and text edit.
Absolutely done with Open Office,

gonna have to ask for Microsoft products for my birthday

Was workshopped tonight! I think it went well and was very informative, but I think it is safe to say my heart just isn’t in the short story art form. Subtraction is hard.

WR600 you are the worst.

I’m always super excited about my grad classes, when I’m sitting there in them.

But then as soon as class is over I’m stuck going, “Holy Fuckerroos, how am I ever going to get all this done?”
